3.   BAUXITE: 

Bauxite is the raw material for the production of alumina.  There are several types(origin from INDIA).

  1)  CALCINED BAUXITE :

         - TiO2 : <3.8 %                               4% max

4.   GGBS : Ground Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag

* SLAG POWDER (SLAG CEMENT)

  The molter slag is a byproduct of an iron blast furnace, part of an integrated steel mill.  

  And the Slag can be processed in two ways, resulting in two different products

  (1)   Slag is deposited in pits and allowed to cool slowly by air.

         -    ‘air-cooled blast furnace slag aggregate’ 

         -    used in various construction applications (e.g., concrete, fill, base material, asphalt/hot mix).  

         -    Air-cooled slag aggregate is non-reactive and is a relatively low-value product.

  (2)   Slag is cool rapidly by water-injection.

        -  ‘granulator’- glassy material with sand-like consistency. 

        -  “Granulated slag,” is then dried and ground to a fine powder, at which point it becomes “slag cement.”  

 (3)  Slag cement 

      -    Slag cement is a “hydraulic cement,” which, like portland cement, chemically reacts with water and forms the “glue” 

          that causes concrete to become a solid, durable building material. 

      -    Slag cement is a high-value product used primarily as a cement in concrete, and can replace between 20 and 80 

          percent of portland cement in concrete (depending on application and engineering requirements).

      -   Among the measurable improvements are :

              # Better concrete workability

              # Easier finishability

              # Higher compressive and flexural strengths

              # Lower permeability

              # Improved resistance to aggressive chemicals

              # More consistent plastic and hardened properties

              # Lighter color 

      

5.   SILICA SAND / QUARTZ SAND:

1) SILICA SAND: Screened Silica Sand (SiO2:98.5% min)
